Overview
As a POS software provider, there are currently two ways to integrate with Tippy. We'll refer to them as products from here on.
Display Integration#
With Display Integration, customers select tips and confirm the payment on a Tippy device (usually a tablet) provided to businesses by Tippy. We provide the UX and guide the customer through selecting the tips and confirming the payment.
The Tippy device communicates with the Tippy API, which in turn communicates with your POS system.
Your POS system will process the full payment while Tippy will take care of distributing the tips to staff members.

Data Integration#
With Data integration, you take care of presenting an interface to customers where they can select tips. Your system will call the Tippy API to get tip proposals (tip suggestions based on the service amount) and Tippy service fees.
Similar to the Display Integration, your system processes the payment while Tippy takes care of distributing the tips to staff members.
